Here’s where this started - on June 6, 2023, my wife and I were notified that our property taxes had not been paid and quickly discovered we had been victims of out of state check theft. Someone had stolen the check we mailed, removed the Trustee’s name, written in their own, and cashed the check.

As difficult as this situation was, I’m thankful to the detectives for their prompt response and help. In addition, the employees at the Knox County Trustee’s office were very professional once they realized my wife and I were victims of check theft. Most importantly, I am very grateful to my amazing wife for handling this matter on behalf of our family.

Now, we are being accused of being “tax cheats” through ads, mailers and texts being sent out to folks across the district. Not only are they accusing my wife and I of a crime, there is also a website which lists her name and our home address.

I chose to run for office and step into the public eye, I was prepared for anything my opponent and her allies might say about me. However, attacks rooted in blatant, easily disproven lies that target my wife and prominently display my family’s home address go too far.

This is how I see it - they know the issues are on our side, they know their candidate has not spent her last two years representing or even listening to this district. Spreading lies to distract voters from the real issues is their only option, but I know this district will see through that.

Help me show my opponent that this type of campaigning has no place in Knox County by donating, signing up to volunteer or committing to vote TODAY.
